Legislators will meet Monday and Tuesday to debate extending Gov. Ned Lamont’s pandemic-related emergency declarations which are currently scheduled to expire next Thursday.

Contact  your legislators to ask them to support extending Governor Lamont’s emergency declarations. Extension is critical because:

Executive Order 12D requires that eligible landlords and tenants must be connected to the state’s rental assistance program, UniteCT before the eviction process for nonpayment of rent can continue. This will help ensure that vulnerable households and landlords remain protected throughout this health and economic crisis.

Emergency declaration is required for Connecticut to qualify for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursement for non-congregate sheltering costs. This is critical to ensure that no one is left in the cold this winter, and that we limit the spread of COVID 19 among people experiencing homelessness.

Please contact your legislators today to ask for their support!
