The be homeful project gives kids, families, and communities tools for learning about how homelessness affects local children and taking action to help by raising much-needed shelter diversion funds to help local families stay at home. Since the project launched the project in 2015, CCEH and its members have helped over 1,000 children and their families stay in their homes. Connecticut’s shelters are doing everything they can to follow the CDC guidelines of spacing beds 6 feet apart, but the reality is that with current shelter capacity we need to work more quickly than ever to move people out of shelters and into HOMES. Please join our effort to keep clients and staff safe by helping them stay where they are safest: at home. Please consider donating emergency funds to move families and individuals into apartments right away. Funds provide flexible emergency assistance for first month’s rent, security deposits, and other one-time expenses associated with housing clients experiencing homelessness.
