A Message From Our CEO

Dear Friends,

CCEH is grateful to the many people throughout Connecticut and beyond who have joined our effort to quickly rehouse people experiencing homelessness. People have joined this effort in many ways— by identifying apartment vacancies for clients experiencing homelessness, by contributing key hard-to-come-by furnishings, and by donating flexible funds for first-month’s rent, security deposits, and other one-time expenses associated with rehousing individuals and families.

Please read below to find out who from our community has played a role in making this program a success so far. If you would like to get involved in the CCEH Homemakers Program, please contact Ryan Beach at rbeach@cceh.org.

Thank you for helping us give our clients a place where they can stay safe at home.

Yours Truly,

Dr. Richard Cho

How can you stay safe at home…

if you don’t have a home to begin with?

Our Inspiration

CCEH’s Homemakers Program is modeled in part on Journey Home’s highly successful “Making a House a Home” program. Click below to see Alison Sjoberg of Journey Home take you on a tour of an apartment they set up prior to the pandemic. If you are seeking to help individuals and families in the Hartford area, please contact Alison at Alison.Sjoberg@JourneyHomeCT.org.

Apartment-finders

We are grateful to the many realtors and property owners who are stepping up to identify vacancies for our clients. A special thanks in particular to CT Association of REALTORS, CT Coalition of Property Owners, CONN-Nahro, and New England Affordable Housing Association for helping us get the word out to landlords and realtors. Click on the faces below to read testimonies from landlords and realtors who have housed clients for us. If you would like to become an apartment finder, please fill out this form.

Furniture Bank

Imagine moving into an empty apartment? CCEH is collecting furniture and household items for homes around the state. We would like to thank companies who have donated merchandise to this effort. Below is a list of items that we are trying to provide to clients. Please fill out this form if you have items that you would like to donate.

Volunteer With Us

You can help! Consider volunteering to help a client get set up in their new home. Fill out this form if you would like to volunteer.

Kids Can Help Too!

What better way to instill positive values in your children than having them help make new homes warm and special. We are looking for children to make welcome home cards and welcome signs for our clients. Here are some examples of cards kids have made for our clients. If you or your classroom would like to donate cards, contact Ryan Beach at rbeach@cceh.org.
